GPA Calculation: All grades are based on an A to F, 4.0 scale. Any grade below 70% is considered failing. Course grades are unweighted.
SAT: Since the scoring system changed in 2015, Cedar Tree seniors have averaged 1256 on the SAT: Writing 638; Mathematics 618. All Cedar Tree students take the SAT, and the school has consistently boasted one of the top averages in Clark County, and among the leaders within the Portland metro area. Our CEEB code is 481006.
National Merit Scholars: Cedar Tree has graduated 13 students receiving National Merit Scholarship recognition, including two Finalists.
AP Exams: Even without specific AP courses, 47% of students have passed at least one Advanced Placement exam, with 96 of 151 exams passed (64%), 14 perfect scores, and 3 AP Scholars.
Foreign Language: All Cedar Tree students third grade and higher, take foreign language classes, featuring Latin, Spanish, and New Testament Greek.
Thesis Presentations: All juniors and seniors are required to write lengthy thesis papers, which they must present and defend in front of a panel of questioners at a formal community event.
Community Service: As a graduation requirement, every high school student must complete a minimum of 25 hours per year of approved community service.
Diploma Options: Both the Standard Diploma (minimum of 46 semester credits) and the Honors Diploma (minimum of 53 semester credits) offer core courses which are taught at the Honors level. The Standard Diploma requires 2 years of Foreign Language, and 3 years each of Math and Science.
Accreditation: Cedar Tree is a fully accredited member of the Association of Classical and Christian Schools (ACCS) and the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA).
School Name: The name “Cedar Tree” was chosen out of our desire to see the fulfillment of God’s promises in Psalm 92:12-15.
